Analisis Pengaruh Beban Operasi Terhadap Bukaan Sudu Pengarah Dan Unjuk Kerja Turbin Francis Di Plta Asahan 3
An increase in national energy consumption requires the electrical power system to possess flexible operational response capabilities. This condition forces hydroelectric power plants (PLTA) to operate frequently under off-design conditions. This study aims to analyze the effect of operating load variations on the percentage of Guide Vane Opening (GVO), water discharge rate, and hydraulic efficiency during the actual operation of Francis Turbine Unit 2 at Asahan 3 PLTA, which has an installed capacity of 87MW and a design net head 184,9 m. The research method employed a comparative quantitative approach using daily field which were evaluated against the baseline results of the Output Test based on the international standard IEC 60041. The results of the analysis indicate that the relationship between the operating load and both the GVO and water discharge forms a strong positive linear pattern kuat unit's actual characteristics tended to be stable and converged with its initial test data. This study concludes that field parameter fluctuations trigger a waste of primary water energy in the main loading range; hence, an economic load dispatch strategy in the stable zone (≤65 MW) is highly recommended to maintain efficiency and prolong the service life of turbine components.
