Pengembangan Desain Forklif Manual Dengan Sistem Mekanis Hand Winch Menggunakan Metode Design For Assembly (Dfa)
ABSTRACT
A manual forklift is a material handling device used to lift and transport goods. However, a forklift design with a large number of components results in a less efficient assembly process, making design improvement necessary to simplify assembly. This study aims to develop a manual forklift with a mechanical hand winch system using the Design for Assembly (DFA) method. The research methodology included identifying design requirements, developing the product design, analyzing the components, and evaluating assembly time efficiency based on the DFA method. The analysis considered the number of components, handling time, insertion time, and assembly efficiency. The results showed that the implementation of the DFA method simplified the design by reducing and integrating several components without affecting the primary function of the forklift. The assembly efficiency of the initial design was 51.18% based on actual evaluation, while the developed design achieved a theoretical assembly efficiency of 52.71%. This improvement indicates that the developed design provides a simpler and more efficient assembly process than the initial design
