Optimasi Desain Mesin Peraut Lidi Kelapa Sawit Berdasarkan Metode Ahp (Analitycal Hierarchy Process)
ABSTRACT
Processing palm oil palm frond waste into craft materials requires a shredding process that produces uniform sizes and smooth surfaces. The manual shredding process has limitations in production capacity, product quality, and operator safety and comfort. This study aims to determine the best design for a palm oil palm frond shredding machine using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The assessment was conducted by experts in the field of mechanical engineering and practitioners through a pairwise comparison questionnaire. The six main criteria analyzed were Functionality, Performance, Ergonomics, Durability, Serviceability, and Aesthetics. Three design alternatives were evaluated: Alternative 1 using a modular blade with a manual feed system (A1), Alternative 2 using a modular blade with an automatic feed roller (A2), and Alternative 3 using an automatic feed roller, adjustable blade gap, an integrated and closed waste container, and an emergency stop button (A3). The validity of the hierarchical structure was tested using the Consistency Ratio (CR) to ensure consistency of expert assessments. The analysis showed that Alternative 3 received the highest priority score and was selected as the best design due to its advantages in terms of productivity, safety, ease of maintenance, and quality of the shredded product. The resulting design is expected to serve as a reference in the development of a more effective and efficient palm frond shredding machine that meets user needs.
