Analisis Perbandingan Pengaruh Perubahan Suhu Modul Terhadap Efisiensi Dan Daya Keluaran Pada Floating Solar Pv Dan Ground Mounted Solar Pv
ABSTRACT
Module operating temperature is one of the factors affecting the performance of solar panels, as an increase in temperature can reduce power output and efficiency. This study aims to analyze the comparative effect of module temperature variations on the efficiency and power output of Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FPV) and Ground Mounted Solar Photovoltaic (GMPV) systems. The research was conducted experimentally at the UPA Bahasa Lake area, Riau University, using two 100 Wp monocrystalline solar panels installed under FPV and GMPV. Measurements were carried out over seven consecutive days from 08:00 to 17:00 WIB at one-hour intervals. The observed parameters included solar irradiance, module temperature, voltage, current, power output, and panel efficiency. The results showed that the operating temperature of the FPV modules tended to be lower than that of the GMPV modules due to the natural cooling effect of the water surface. This condition enabled the FPV system to achieve better performance than the GMPV system. The maximum power output generated by the FPV system reached 79.88 W, which was higher than that of the GMPV system at 73.87 W. The maximum efficiency of the FPV system was 14.03%, while the GMPV system achieved 12.26%. Furthermore, the total energy generated the FPV system was 2387.25 Wh, exceeding that of the GMPV system, which produced 2158.94 Wh. These findings indicate that the implementation of FPV systems has the potential to improve solar energy generation performance compared to GMPV systems in conditions of the UPA Bahasa Lake area, Riau University.
