Perancangan Dan Analisis Sistem Proteksi Pada Sistem Kelistrikan Pt Emp Energi Riau Merbau-Kayuara Field Berbasiskan Simulasi Domain Waktu
ABSTRACT
A protection system is a critical component in maintaining the reliability and continuity of electrical power supply, particularly in oil and gas industrial power systems which have high complexity and a significant risk of disturbances. This study aims to design and analyze a protection system for the electrical network of PT EMP Energi Riau in the Merbau–Kayuara Field using a time-domain simulation approach. The method involves collecting system data, including single line diagrams, equipment specifications, and load and generation data, followed by system modeling using simulation software to analyze the system response under various fault conditions such as three-phase, phase-to-phase, and single line-to-ground faults. The analysis results are used to determine optimal protection coordination settings, including pickup current, time dial settings, and relay characteristic curves to ensure selectivity, sensitivity, speed, and reliability. Based on the time-domain simulation results, the designed protection system is capable of accurately detecting and isolating faults without affecting the healthy parts of the system, and the coordination among protection devices such as overcurrent relays and circuit breakers operates in accordance with proper protection coordination principles. Therefore, the time-domain simulation approach is proven to be effective for designing and evaluating protection systems and can improve the reliability of electrical power systems in the oil and gas industry.
