Potensi Ekstrak Akar Tuba (Derris eliptica) Untuk Mengendalikan hama Ulat Grayak (Spodoptera Liture F) pada tanaman Kedelai (Glycine max L. Meriil)
Soybean is a cash crop. Factors affecting soybean production is due to pest
attack. Pests that attack soybean plants are grayak caterpillar Spodoptera litura F.
Control of pests by farmers usually still use synthetic chemical insecticides. One
plant that is plant-based insecticide mengadung tuba plant. Plants tube has an
active ingredient that is toxic rotenon.
This study aims to determine the potential of the tuba root extract as a
pesticide to control plant pests caterpillar Spodoptera litura F grayak on soybean
plants. The study was conducted in the laboratory of pests of plants and garden
organic experiment (KPO) Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau in June until
September 2009. The results showed that administration of root extract has the
potential to control caterpillars Spodoptera litura F of all the tested treatments.
Concentration of 50 g / l of water is the concentration of a potentially good,
because it can kill one of the fastest worm test 12 hours. Later in this treatment
daily mortality percentage reached 20% while the percentage of cumulative
mortality by 85%. Time required to kill 50% worm test achieved within 48 hours
and the concentration 50 g / l of water is also able to kill 50% worm test.
