One of the contributing factors in the economic life of Riau is the availability of electricity and the provision infrastrukurnya.Dimana largely handled by PT. PLN (Persero). PT. PLN (Persero) strive to meet the needs and demands of society. It is closely related to the number of people who feel the need for such power has been the primary needs, both domestic industrial sector, social agencies, business education, information, public roads so the electricity demand of the local community is quite high. The level of demand for electricity are many factors that influence it according to the needs of each consumer. The purpose of this study was to determine the electrical demand and any prepaid prepaid electricity problems in Rayon City West Pekanbaru.
The population of this study are all consumers of prepaid electricity services in Rayon City West Pekanbaru much as 3,014 customers by the end of January 2013, sampling technique is Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Samples taken as many as 100 people using tables Population Specific, data analysis using descriptive methods. The results of this study stated that the demand for electricity each month has increased the number of subscribers, especially prepaid electricity customers Kwh meter, along with increased public demand for electric power. During the years 2012-2013 the increase in demand for prepaid electricity on average per month is 9.21% or as many as 2,085 customers. The problems of prepaid electricity demand in the western city of Pekanbaru Rayon is: increasing electricity tariffs must strive to make society more efficient in the use of electric power. Lack of public knowledge about the socialization that prepaid electricity and prepaid procedures for using electricity is still lacking. Increased economy led to an increase in house building area that needs electrical power and electricity demand is also increasing. Improved technology resulting in an increase in the type of electrical equipment that uses electrical power, causing the electrical power demand also increased, where the average household uses every 3 to 5 units of electric power tools.
