Seleksi Dan Uji Daya Hambat Aktinomisetes Asal Tanah Gambut Desa Pagaruyung Kampar Riau Terhadap Bakteri Patogen Escherichia Coli Dan Salmonella Typhi
Actinomycetes is a group of microbes that may produce antibacterial compounds. The antibacterial compounds can be used to control phatogenic bacteria that cause infection such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi. This study aimed to isolate and test the inhibition ability of actinomycetes from peat soil, Pagaruyung Kampar, Riau to pathogenic bacteria, E. coli and S. typhi. A total of 23 isolates actinomycetes were isolated from 5 different locations. The isolates were cultured in Starch Casein Agar (SCA) medium. A total of 16 actinomycetes isolates with different morphology were tested to pathogenic bacteria, E. coli and S. typhi using agar disc method. The result showed that among 16 tested isolates, 10 isolates inhibited E. coli, 13 isolates inhibited S. typhi and 8 isolates inhibited both E. coli and S. typhi. Isolates of actinomycetes that had the highest antibacterial inhibition of E. coli was DP 2.4 with 9.4 mm clear zone diameter while isolates that had the highest antibacterial inhibition of S. typhi was DP 2.3 with 11.9 mm clear zone diameter.
Key words: actinomycetes, Escherichia coli, peat soil, Riau, Salmonella typhi
