This research aims to identify factors that influence agricultur land conversion to plantations. In this research the authors took place in the District Rambah Samo Rokan Hulu. The election of this area with the consideration that many residents in this area are work as rice farmers, and most of the land conversion in the village of New Rambah, Rambah Utama, Margamulya, Karya Mulya, Masda Makmur, and Pasir Makmur. In this research population was made public in the village of Rambah Baru as many as 126 households, and with a sample of 56 respondents. In the village of Rambah baru where the presence of many farmers who land conversion that was originally paddy fields into plantations. Data analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis. Based Research occurred of land conversion to plantations gives a positive impact on the welfare of farmers. That is, farmers in the district will be more prosperous when the farmes do land conversion into rubber and oil palm plantations. Land conversion is performed becouse insufficient access to irrigation channels, so many farmers who do them land conversion rice fields into plantations, and also becouse the low income of farmers while the costs involved are too high lead to farmers want do land conversion to plantations.
