The formulation of the problem in this research is how the motivation of inmates living skills training in prisons class II A in Tembilahan. The purpose of this study is to know about the motivation of inmates living skills training in Penitentiary Class II A in Tembilahan city. This research is a field research in the form of descriptive analysis. With analysis for motivation mendeskriptifkan inmates by taking training in cendramata that focus on waste utilization Old newspapers. The population in this study amounted to 13 people and sampled this study amounted to one person. Data collection techniques in this study is the observation technique, interview techniques, and technical documentation. The results of this study indicate that the motivation of prisoners to participate in life skills training in dominance is to be able to have the knowledge or insight, want to open their own business or to work with kahlian which has been owned and the desire to be accepted again by society after being released later that makes inmates are motivated to follow the life skills training.
