Uji Keterawetan Dan Kuat Geser Kayu Laminasi Pada Kayu Mahang

The purpose of this study was to determine the degree preservation value of the mahang wood which is: retention, penetration and absorption, and also determine the shear strenght of laminated wood. Futhermore mahang wood preserved using biocide TCMBT100/100EC by soaking it with different time duration, which is: 30’, 60’, 120’ minutes. After that, retention, penetration and absorption was examined to determine how much preservative liquid that is able to be absorbed by the wood. The retention value of preservative biocide TCMBT100/100EC on mahang wood ranges from 0,28 up to 0,73 kg/m3, while the penetration is not known, because the color of preservative fluid is almost the same with the color of wood wood structure. Highest retention shown by the concertration of 2% biocide TCMBT100/100EC with 120 minutees of soaking time. Futhermore shear strenght of laminated wood is tested to find out the strenght of the adhesive and to help balance of the current wood supply.
