Analisis Beban Pencemaran Limbah Cair Kilang Sagu Diperairan Selat Asam Desa Mekarsari Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti, Provinsi Riau
Sago factory in the Mekar Sari Village usually flow the sago liquid waste directly to the Asam Strait and thus pollute that waters. A research aims to understand the sago wastewater pollution load in the strait has been conducted in April 2017. There were 3 stations, namely Station 1 (fresh liquid waste), Station 2 (in the drainage of sago factory) and Station 3 (Asam Strait area). Results shown that in the wastewater of sago factory, the pH 4.75; temperature 29 0C; COD 63,990 mg/L; TSS 378.3 mg/L; PO4 48.7 mg/L; NH3 13 mg/L; NO3 9.05 mg/L. The values of COD, TSS and NH3 were over the standard values of wastewater issued by the Indonesian Government (PERMEN LH No.05, 2014). The TSS load produced by the sago factory was 0.0614 kg/day, while that of the COD 0.0841 kg/day (BPAi > BPMi). The values of water quality parameters in the Asam Strait waters are as follows: temperature 30.5 0C; pH 7.7; dissolved oxygen 3.95 mg/L; salinity 27.88 ‰; TSS 248 mg/L; PO4 0.85 mg/L; NH3 0.085 mg/L; NO3 0.75 mg/L. The NO3, PO4 and TSS values were over the standard values (KEPMEN LH No.51, 2004). Based on the STORET index, the Asam Strait waters can be categorized as heavily polluted (score -47).
