Indonesia is the second highest nation with tuberculosis cases in the world after India. Case detection rate (CDR) of tuberculosis which is still below the national target becoming one of the problems in Riau Province. International Standards for Tuberculosis Care (ISTC) is a standard reference in TB management that has been approved and used in the strategy of national TB program, but there are still many private general practitioners (PGPs) who didn’t know and have not trained about ISTC. This study aimed to determine the knowledge, attitude and practice of PGPs about diagnosis and management of pulmonary tuberculosis based on ISTC. This study was a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. Data were collected at 53 PGPs in Rokan Hilir Regency using questionnaire instrument. Most of the PGPs never heard about ISTC (62.3%) and have not completed ISTC training before (90.6%). Private general practitioners have moderate knowledge (39.6%), negative attitude (52.8%) and moderate practice (51.9%). This study conclude that the knowledge, attitude and practice of the PGPs have not reached the good category yet and most PGPs have not exposed by the ISTC, there should be a socialization of ISTC to PGPs.
