Rhinitis allergica is the world’s health problem in 10% or around 500 billion citizen. Rhinitis allergica has to be considered as a serious condition due to its effect on one’s quality of life. One of the most common cause of allergic rhinitis is dustmite. This allergen lies on the household dust growing on the bed, pillow, carpet, and any other home furnishings with optimal temperature of 25-30 C and 70-80% humidity. This research is a descriptive research with cross sectional design that aimed to identify dustmite in 3rd and 4th year students’ accommodation suffering from allergic rhinitis at medical faculty of riau university and to find out their hygiene behaviour that affects density of dustmite. Dust samples were taken from 74 respondents and behavioral data were taken from questionnaires. Results showed that 28 bedrooms (37,8%) are dustmite positive and 45 students were found to have bad hygiene behaviour (60,8%). According to the results it was found that dustmite positive bedrooms are 37,8% and most of the behaviour of the students suffering from allergic rhinitis was found to have bad behavioural hygiene.
