West Sumatra is one of the provinces in Indonesia with a lot of natural potential that can be used as a natural and cultural tourism. Padang which is the capital is the economic center is also known as the city of art and culture. Nature tourism is a lot, but cultural tourism is still relatively small and less well maintained. To improve and develop cultural tourism is needed a tourist spot that can show, preserve and preserve Minangkabau culture. This cultural tourism will provide added value for tourists to better know and understand the Minangkabau culture. MinangkabauTheme Park as a theme park to be a place of entertainment or recreation that presents attractions and other events for visitors. Selection of Minangkabau theme can certainly make visitors know and understand Minangkabau culture. The design of Theme Park will apply the Minangkabau House approach in order to create an old Minangkabau atmosphere so visitors can feel the state of the past and apply the characteristics of Minangkabau house that can be displayed. Based on the function and theme of the design came the concept of "Nature is not a teacher". This concept is applied in the design of the zone, the pattern and the mass order, the mass formation, the circulation and landscape so as to create a container that is expected to complement the cultural tourism in Padang.
