Penyisihan Cod, Nitrogen Total Dan Tss Pada Air Limbah Sawit Di Dalam Flat-Fotobioreaktor Menggunakan Chlorella Sp. Yang Di immobilisasi
The main problem in the production of palm oil is liquid waste containing high organic matter. One of the wastewater treatment containing organic matter is phycoremediation. Phycoremediation is a treatment by using algae to remove organic matter in wastewater. Organic matter becomes a source of nutrients for algal growth. Chlorella sp. is a green algae that has a small size, smooth, low density, and easy to carry the flow of waste water. Therefore, in this research, the treatment to remove COD, total nitrogen and TSS in palm oil waste using Chlorella sp. which is immobilized with calcium alginate. Cells will be entangled in the calcium alginate matrix will be more stable and protected from the physical and chemical pressures of wastewater which leads to higher cell growth that will increase the efficiency of removal. In this study, variations of Na-alginate (4%, 6%, 8%) were used for cell immobilization and contact time (1,3,5,7 days) to obtain the highest removal efficiency of pollutant parameters. Based on the result of research that bead with 8% Na-alginate concentration able to put aside the best total nitrogen with total nitrogen efficiency 11-62,46%, COD 23-63,1%, TSS 35,3-76% with best detention time seventh.
