Biomassa (Biovolume) Perifiton Pada Substrat Keramik Di Sungai Tapung Desa Bencah Kelubi Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Periphyton is a group of microorganism that grow in certain substrates. A research aims to understand the bioomass(biovolume)of periphyton in the Tapung River has been carried out in April-May 2017. There were 3 stasitions namely in the upstream (S1), middlearea (S2), and downstream (S3) of the river. Samplings were conducted 4 times, once / week.Water quality measured were transparency, temperatures, dissolved oxygen, pH, phosphate, nitrate and free carbondioxide. The periphytonsamples werescrapped from the surface of ceramic substrate (10 cm x 3 cm). The number of ceramic sampled were taken in Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3 were 5, 4, and 3 piecesrespectively. Results shown that there were 35 types of periphyton present and they were belonged to 4 classes namely Bacillariophyceae (26 species), Cyanophyceae (5 species), Chlorophyceae (3 spesies), and Dinophyceae (1 species). Results shown that the biomass of the periphyton in the S1 was 446.95 mg/cm2, S2 was 584.73 mg/cm2 and S3 was 1.319.48 mg/cm2. Periphyton biomass (biovolume) in the Tapung River was ranged from 446.95 to 584.73 mg/cm2.
