Hubungan Peran Penyuluhan, Keberdayaan Dan Kemandirian Petani Sagu Di Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi Barat Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

The purpose of this research are : 1) to know the implementation of extension that has been run by extension worker in sago farming activity, 2) to analyze the role of extension that has been run by extension worker in sago farming activity, 3) to analyze the level of empowerment and independence of sago farmer, 4) to analyze the relationship of extension role with the empowerment level of sago farmers, 5) to analyze the relationship of sago farmers empowerment level with the independence level of sago farmers. This research conducted in Tanjung Village and Tanjung Darul Takzim Village Tebing Tinggi Barat Sub-district Kepulauan Meranti Regency. Research started from February 2017 until January 2018. Sampling taken by purposive sampling method. Data analysis method used to answer the purpose of this research is Descriptive Qualitative, Likert Scale and Spearman's Rank Corelation. The results showed that: 1) each village had one extension worker who worked in a polivalent manner, 2) the extension conducted by the extension worker was categorized as "Lack of role", 3) the level of empowerment of sago farmers was classified as "Lackless", 4) the level of independence of sago farmers is categorized as "Self-Sufficient", 5) there is a significant relationship between the role of extension which includes education, supervision and monitoring and evaluation with the empowerment of human resources, 6) there is a significant relationship between the empowerment of human resources and productive economy empowerment with the independence to take decisions in marketing.
