The purposa of this research is to improve the ability of the concept of numbers thourgh the traditional congklak at the age of 4-5 years in tk budding new his base banana district koto gasib district siak 2016/2017 academic year. This research takes the form a class action research (ptk) the action consists of two cyles ,each cyle consists of three meetings.each cyle consists of four stages,namelyplanning ,action implementation observartion and reflection .The subject of this research is teacher and all childdren aged 4-5 years.TK shoots new village banana sub district consists of 15 children .data collection techniques in this study are observation ,documentation ,and assignment.data analysis techniques that are used are interactive analysis model ,including :data reduction ,data presentation ,and conclusion of this data is by using congklak.can improve the ability to recognize the concept oof number in chidren aged 4-5 years in new tk budding new his base banana district koto gasib district siak 2016/2017 academic year.this is evidenced by increasing the ability of the number of children in each cyle .prasluscapacity of 40,00% cyle I of 48,89% and in cyle II of 69,44%
