Pengaruh Pengaktifan Kimia Dan Fisikaterhadap Prestasi Elektroda Karbon Aktif Dari Serbuk Gergaji Kayu Karet Untuk Meningkatkan Nilai Kapasitansi
Activated carbon electrode for supercapacitor application from rubber wood sawdust based on variations in the chemical activators have been successful carried out.. Type of chemical activators agent studied such as KOH, NaOH and ZnCl2 at a concentration of 0.4 M. The preparation of activated carbon electrodes were starting with the pre-carbonization process, the grinding process, the activation process by three different chemical compounds. The production of pellets for all material that has been activated conducted at a pressure of 8 Ton. The entire sample were carbonized at a temperature of 600 °C in N2 gas atmosphere, and then followed by physical activation process uses CO2 gas at a temperature of 900 oC. Measurement datas such as mass, diameter and thickness were recorded at each step such as: (i) prior to carbonization, (ii) after carbonization and (iii) after the activation of physics and processed to obtain density values. The density of activated carbon electrode in step (iii) of the three types of chemical activators are KOH, NaOH and ZnCl2 each was 0.813 g/cm3, 0.737 g/cm3 and 0.870 g/cm3. Specific capacitance value of supercapacitor cell with different activated carbon electrodes based on KOH, NaOH and ZnCl2 activator agent were 60.650 F/g, 59.619 F/g and 103.570 F/g. The highest surface area was obtained by N2 gas absorption method was found in the ZA sample was 883.750 cm2/g. XRD analysis for all of the samples showed that the activated carbon produced was amorphous with the crystal orientation on the plane of (002) and (100). The palene of (002) and (100) was shown by the presence of two peaks at an angle of 24o and 44o 2θ. Based on all the data and analysis that has been conducted in the activator can be concluded the ZnCl2 was the best activator agent for the activation of the carbon electrodes from rubber wood saws.
