Variasi Waktu Perendaman Dalam Pembuatan Karbon Aktif Dari Cangkang Buah Ketapang Sebagai Adsorben Dengan Pengaktifan Kimia Dan Iradiasi Gelombang Mikro
Activated carbon were prepared from shell of Terminalia cattapa. The shell of Terminalia cattapa were carbonized by conventional carbonization for 3 hours. The ratio of mass percentase of carbon granular : KOH is 2 : 1. The mixtures of carbon granular and KOH were soaked in 200 mL boilong water for 12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours. Respectivaly and subseguent by irradiated with output power of 630 watt for 20 minutes. The samples were characterized by using X-ray diffraction,Scanning electron microscopy and measured of the adsorption of the methylene blue. The microstructure of the surplus show the attack high (Lc) are inversely proportional to stack witdh (La). The interlayer spacing of d002 and d100 does not significantty depend on time of soak. The stack high is proportional to the surface area of the activated carbon. The best activated carbon were resulted from the soaking time of 36 hours with methylene blue of 79,28 mg/g. The active surface area of the best comes from the time of immersion of 36 hours amounted to 293.36 m2 / g.
