Penentuan Modulus Elastisitas Kayu Menggunakan Sonic Wave Analyzer
Determination of wood modulus elasticity by using the experimental method with Sonic Wave Analyzer (SOWAN) has been demonstrated. The wood samples consist of five types of wood. Wood samples were formed in cylindrical shape with a length of 15 cm and a diameter of 4.5 cm. After that, the time delay of primary wave and secondary wave was measured. The research result showed that the largest primary and secondary wave velocity was varnish wood by vp = 31.52 x 103 m/s and vs = 7.76 x 103 m/s respectively. Modulus elasticity values obtained was E = 6.426 x 109 N/m2. The smallest of primary and secondary wave velocity was Sengon wood by vp = 2.14 x 103 m/s and vs = 1.63 x 103 m/s respectively and modulus elasticity values obtained was E = 0.667 x 109 N/m2.
