Sifat Fisis Dan Elektrokimia Elektroda Karbon Superkapasitor Berbasis Tempurung Kelapa Dengan Penambahan Surfaktan
Carbon electrodes from coconut shell have been synthesized by addition of anionik surfactant of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) 1,5 M in the ball milling process. A chemical activation was performed by activator KOH for mass ratio of carbon and KOH was 1:4. Supercapacitor cells was fabricated by the spraying method on scrap paper as separator in the pressure of 8 kg/cm3. The spraying process was done on both sides of the separator with in distance 15 cm by variations of spraying for each sample. The physical properties of carbon powder was characterized by using of N2 gas absorption method, X-ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-rays analyzing for the surface area, crystalline properties, structure of the surface morphology, and the elements in carbon electrode materials based on coconut shell. SEM micrograph on magnification of 500, 1000, and 5000 X showed that the carbon electrodes is dominant on the macropores and the generated particle is with in the range 0,5 μm - 25 μm. The optimum specific capacitance was found on S3 cell at 0.0075 cm of 2.896 Fg-1 and the minimum specific capacitance was found on TS 7 cell at 0.017 cm of 0.68 Fg-1. The results of the physical properties and electrochemical measurements showed that the addition of surfactant SDS increasing the specific capacitance of carbon electrodes from coconut shell . The specific capacitance was decreased by increasing number of spray on carbon electrodes.
