Kemampuan Siswa Dalam Membaca Pemahaman Karangan Narasi Siswa Kelas V Di Sekolah Dasar Gugus I Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru
This study was titled Student Ability in Reading Understanding of Narrative Text of Fifth Grade Students In Elementary Schools Group I Tampan District of Pekanbaru City. The background in this research is by problems encountered in some fifth grade students at gorup I School of Tampan district, Pekanbaru City reading comprehension, problem of student still difficult to understand what in read, this matter seen from difficulty student comprehend reading in matter of story, student take a long time to understand the contents of the reading. Then the students think reading is a tedious and exhausting activity. And not usually students reading at school and at home so that students' ability in reading comprehension is low. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of ability of elementary school students in reading understanding of narrative text in fifth grade group I Tampan district, Pekanbaru city. This type of research is quantitative research with survey method. Indicators encountered in the form of storytelling, defining characters in storytelling, determining how to tell stories, finding stories, and defining them in stories. The result of the research shows that the level of the students' ability in elementary school of group 1 Tampan district Pekanbaru city was increased enough. This can be seen with the average scores obtained in each elementary school in SDN 37 Pekanbaru with an average value of 67.9 which is sufficiently categorized, SDN 136 Pekanbaru with an average value of 71.5 which is sufficiently categorized, SD IT Darul Hikmah Parsbar with an average value of 73.8 which is categorized sufficiently, and SDI Brilliant Pekanbaru with an average value 72.3 which is sufficiently categorized.
