This study aims to examine how the development of household industry banana chips in Indragiri Hulu regency. This study used secondary and primary data types in the period of 1991 - 2015 which originated from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Riau and Central Bureau of Statistics Indragiri Hulu Regency and obtained directly from the business respondents. In this research use descriptive analysis method with SWOT analysis method. The results of the study that the condition of Human Resources is still bad, the technology used is also very bad, the capital owned by business actors is also still bad, sertas marketing system is still not good. So based on the SWOT analysis strategy is done by expanding the market so that the goods are more well known and technological improvements are appropriate
