Analisis Sektor Unggulan Di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu Tahun 2011 – 2015

The economic structure of Rokan Hulu Regency is dominated by 2 (two) sectors, namely agriculture and processing industry. During the last 5 (five) years the agricultural sector still dominate the economic structure of Rokan Hulu Regency. Oil palm and rubber plantations that support this agricultural sector. So as to increase the income per capita of the people of Rokan Hulu regency in 2014 by 44 million increase when compared to the year 2013 only amounted to 38 million.
The purpose of this study is to analyze leading sectors in Rokan Hulu District and analyze the competitiveness of leading sectors. By knowing the leading sector is expected to prepare a more focused development planning so as to create sustainable development. The analysis tool used in this research is Location Quation (LQ) which is used to know the base sector, and Shift Share to analyze the amount of contribution growth of labor and income in each sector in the region concerned.
Result of calculation of Location Quotient index of sector which is base sector (LQ> 1), that is Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery; Procurement of Electricity and Gas; Information and Communication; Financial Services and Insurance; Administration of Government, Defense and Social Security; Health Services and Social Activities. In general, sectors with LQ scores greater than one (> 1) are categorized as having been able to meet the demand within the region itself and may be able to export out of the region.
