Pengaruh Konsentrasi Pengaktifan Kimia Karbon Aktif Terhadap Penyerapan Logam Berat
The effects of concentration of zink cloride (ZnCl2) on the heavy metal ion adsorption of activated carbon. Have been done experimentall carbon were prepared from sugar cane baggase using microwave irradiation assisted ZnCl2 activation. Zink chloride were used as activation agent with various of concentration i,e. 1 M, 2 M dan 3 M and labelled KA 1M, KA 2M and KA 3M respectively and of the output power of 630 Watt for 20 minutes. The physical properties of activated carbon were characterized using electron scanning microscopy and X-ray dispersive energy, X-ray difraction, and atomic absorption spectroscopy. X-ray pattern of activated carbon were shown in semiecrystalline with the presence of peaks of 002 and 100 at 2θ about 22o and 45o. Micro structure analysis of activated carbon shows the stack height (Lc) inversely proportuning with stack width (La) and inter layer spacing (d002 and d001) activated carbon did not depend significantly with the concentration of activating agent. The activated carbon with the ZnCl2 concentration of 3M has the highest heavy metal adsorption i.e 97,7%, 57,6% and 43,5% for adsorption Pb, Fe and Cu respectively.
Key Words : Activated carbon, chemical activation, ZnCl2 consentration, heavy metal adsorption
