Abstract: Counting ability is one of National Educational goals. The increase of counting ability can be seen from every children.. The effort of increasing counting ability in the level of early childhood is taught through exciting and fun learning, and given repeatedly by examples. One way to improve counting ability is by giving colorful dice game.The aim of this reseach is to determine the increase of early counting ability through colorful dice game in children aged 4-5 years in PAUD Al-Izhar of Pekanbaru city. This study use classroom action research, the research tool used is activity observation sheet of teacher activity and observation sheet of the increase of early counting ability.Subject in this research were 15 children with 5 boys and 10 girls. Data analysis is done by procecing the results of observation data in the form of field notes. The result of the analysis show that in cycle one obtained the result of teacher activity observation of 64,44%, result of observation activity of child equal to 55,37%, and observation result of the increase in the ability to start counting is53,32% so that result obtained not as expexted. Therefore continued with research on the second cycle. Result of second cycle analysis obtained by observation activity of teacher equal to 88,89%, observation of activity of child equal to 76,85% and observation improvement ability of start count equal 81,48%. Froom the result of this study it can be concluded that the increase in earliest counting ability can be improved through the colorful dice game.
