Gambaran Sosial Budaya Bayi Yang Diberikan Makanan Prelakteal
Exclusive breastfeeding for infants is still very low, one of which is caused by prelacteal feeding. Prelacteal food is a food or drink other than breast milk given to babies 0-3 days of birth or as long as the mother does not have breast milk. The purpose of this study was to determine the socio-cultural description of the community towards prelacteal feeding in infants in the Rejosari Community Health Center working area in 2018. This study used a descriptive method with a cross sectional approach. Respondents consisted of 83 mothers who had babies aged 0-6 months. The results of this study indicate that there is a socio-cultural community in one of the working areas of the Rejosari Community Health Center which is often carried out because it has been inherited from their ancestors, especially those related to prelacteal feeding in infants in the form of honey, starch, banana, water white. It is recommended that there be an effort to decrease the belief in prelacteal feeding on newborns and increase exclusive breastfeeding through routine counseling by involving parents of babies in health communication. Keywords: 0-6 months infants, prelacteal food, socio-cultural.References: 65 (1995 - 2017)
