Pengaruh Penggunaan Air Selokan/Parit Yang Difermentasi Em4 Limbah Terhadap Pertumbuhan Chlorella Sp. Di Medium Air Gambut
EM4 fermented domestic sewage is rich in organic materials that can be used as nutrient source for growing Chlorella sp. A study to understand the best concentration of the waste has been conducted in July to August 2018. The waste was added to peat water and there were 6 treatments applied, P0 (0%), P1 (50%), P2 (55%), P3 (60%), P4 (65%) and P5 (70%). Then 100 ml of Chlorella culture (12.023.000 cells/m) was mixed with 4 L media and it was cultured for 8 days. Parameters measured were the abundance of Chlorella sp., the algae biomass, chlorophyll a, nitrate, phosphate, dissolved oxygen, free CO2 concentration, pH and temperature. Results shown that the best media was P3 (60%) with Chlorella sp. abudance was 8.183.000 cells/ml and the biomass was 0.76 g/L. The highest Nitrate concentration was in the 1st day (4.86 mg/L) and it reduced into 1.24 mg/L in the 8th day. Phosphate concentration gradually decrease from 20.27 mg/L in the 1st day and became 4.23 mg/L in the 8th day. Nitrate and phosphate decrement indicate that those materials have been used by the algae. Data obtained shown that the fermented domestic sewage can be used as nutrient source for the growing Chlorella sp. Keyword : Organic material, fermented domestic sewage, algae culture, nutrient
