Aspek Biologi Reproduksi Belut Sawah (Monopterus Albus Zuiew) Di Rawa Desa Sawah Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Monopterus albus was found in the swamp area of the Sawah Village. To understand the type of reproductive biology of M. albus, a study has been done in March-May 2018. Parameters measured were sex ratio, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. Fish sampling were conducted 10 times, once/ week. There were 71 females, 15 transitions and 10 males captured. Sex ratio of female, transition and male was 7.1 : 1.5 : 1. The length of female of M. albus ranged from 353-630 mm, transition 433-656 mm, and male 640-740 mm. The gonad somatic index of female was 0.21-6.44%. while the male was 0.00-1.19%. Fecundity is around 871-970 eggs/fish, and the egg diameter was 1.0-3.0 mm. Keywords: sex ratio, hermaphrodite fish, gonad somatic index, fecundity
