The decreasing on amount of readers, as a result of Press Company Union data is an indicator for the decreasing the amount of newspaper existance.” Industrial Management Local In Pekanbaru Of Daily News In Facing Media Convergence” was taken as the title to find out how the application of newspaper management and media convergence in the Metro Riau which is the pure local media and Tribun Pekanbaru is a part of Kompas Gramedia Group.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with purposive technique with three informan, so it can figure out the management function of media in planning, organisastion, actuating and controlling. In addition, will describe how the media convergence that Metro Riau and Tribun Pekanbaru.
The result of this research are : first, the applivant of industrial management of newspaper and media convergence on Metro Riau and Tribun Pekanbaru has been done well. Second, the different between planning and evaluation on Tribun Pekanbaru is deciding by Kompas as the main company, while the Metro Riau is enough with the leader, besides the difference in the implementation of convergence carried out by TribunPekanbaru was to unite newsrooms, while Metro Riau did not unite newsrooms. However, there are some things that should be improved so that in the future Metro Riau and TribunPekanbaru will still exist as media companies.
