Gambaran Indeks Massa Tubuh Dan Kadar Hemoglobin Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Riau
Body mass index is a method of measuring nutritional status in individuals. One of the nutritional status problem that can occur is anemia. Students are the final age group of teenagers who are susceptible to anemia and nutritional status because the changes of activity, diet and sleep. The aim of this study was to determine the description of body mass index and hemoglobin level in students of the Faculty of Nursing Riau University. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. This study at Faculty of Nursing Riau University was used accidental sampling method, there were 45 respondents that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The measuring instrument used was the observation body mass index level was examined by measuring body weight, height and hemoglobin level was examined by using Hb meter easy touch. The measurement of physical activity using activity recall sheets, diet using food recall sheets and sleep quality measurements using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The analysis used was univariate analysis to see the body mass index frequency and hemoglobin level in the respondents. The results showed that 70 respondents (81,4%) had normal of body mass indeks and 40 respondents (46,5%) had below normal level of hemoglobin. It was expected that in the future the institution can motivation in the form of orientation about maintaining health students to paymore attention to the body mass index and haemoglobin levels within normal limits.
