Hubungan Pola Komunikasi Keluarga Dengan Kondisi Kesehatan Psikologis Lansia

Elderly is an advanced stage of a life process that is have a risk of various health problem, one of them is psychological health problem. This condition requires their family support. Family support strongly affect family ability to communicate. This study aims to determine the relationship between family communication pattern with the psychological health conditions in elderly. The research design was descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach, the sampling method is non probability sampling with purposive sampling approach, with 93 respondents of sample based on the inclusion criteria. The results found that the sample between 60-74 years old (elderly) was 89,2%, female was 54,8%, Minangnese 35,5%, marry was 61,3%, elementary school graduated respondents was 40,9%, does not work 45,2%. The analysis demonstrated that the majority of elderly with the functional communication pattern 60,2%, with psychological normal 61,3%. The result of bivariate analysis showed p value (0,000) < α (0,05), it can be concluded that there was a significant relationship between family communication pattern and the psychological health conditions in elderly. It is expected for family to keep communication with elderly, because it can impact on psychological health conditions.
