Hubungan Kepercayaan Keluarga Pasien Tentang Kesehatan Jiwa Terhadap Pencarian Pengobatan Formal Gangguan Jiwa
Mental disorder is a disorder of mental functions that includes emotions, thoughts of behavior, feelings, motivation, will, desires and perceptions that interfere with the process of living in society. The view of family and society about sufferers of mental disorders, always identified as crazy and possessed by demons. The influence of local health beliefs often lies behind the management provided by the family in dealing with family members who experience mental disorders The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of patient’s family beliefs about mental and effort to seek formal treatment of mental disorders. This research is quantitative research, using a cross sectional research design. This research was conducted in the work area of the Puskesmas Kampar Kiri with a sample of 47 family members who have a family of mental disorders taken in total sampling. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used was bivariate analysis using the Fisher Exact Test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the patient's family beliefs about mental health and effort to seek formal treatment of mental disorders in the work area of the Puskesmas Kampar Kiri (pvalue = 0,000). This research can be used as the basis of information and broaden the public's insight into the importance of seeking treatment to help cure people with mental disorders.
