Gambaran Karakteristik Puting Lecet (Cracked Nipple) Pada Ibu Menyusui Bayi 0-2 Bulan

Breastfeeding is a natural process starting from the stage of feeding the baby in the form of mother's milk (ASI) directly from the breast. This research was aim to determine the characteric of cracked nipple in mothers breastfeeding of babies 0-2 months at Harapan Raya Pekanbaru Health Center. This reseach was used descriptive design with purposive sampling. Sampling involving 86 breastfeeding mother who have babies 0-2 months taken based on inclusion criteria. The measuring instrument used a soreness score observation sheet consist of nipple soreness and the condition of the nipple. The analysis was used by univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution. The results of this research was indicated that the characteristics of the majority of respondents at the age of 25-35 years (early adulthood) amounted to 60 people (69.8%), the highest occupation of respondents was housewives 60 people (69.8%), the most parity in the third child was 27 people (31.4%), the highest baby age in neonates (0-28 days) was 68 baby (71.9%). A mother who experienced of cracked nipple amounted to 86 people (47.7%) showed a mild pain category, and 58 peopl (64.4%) maternal respondents experienced soft and more red nipples. It was recommended to be used as input and motivation for the mother to avoid cracking nipple.
