Keragaman Generasi M1 Kedelai Hitam Varietas Detam 1 Hasil Iradiasi Benih Dengan Sinar Gamma
This research was conducted to determine if irradiation of gamma ray on soybean seed may alter variability of M1 population of Detam-1 variety and to obtain more suitable dosage in accessing phenotypic diversity of Detam-1 variety. Selected seed with the germination rate of more than 90% was irradiated at the BATAN Isotop Laboratory in Jakarta on April 2018 and evaluation of M1 generation was established by planting M1 seed at the Faculty of Agriculture Experiment Station, University of Riau during May to August 2018. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with 4 replications. The gamma ray irradiation rates were, G1 (100 Gy gamma ray), G2 (150 Gy gamma ray), G3 (200 Gy gamma ray), G4 (250 Gy gamma ray) and Detam-1 as a control parent. Several qualitative and quantitative characters were observed from all individual plant in field experiments, then the data were analyzed by ANOVA and LEVENE test to know the homogeneity of Variance. Gamma ray irradiation changed in some qualitative characters such as, created white leaf color, two-leaflet and four-leaflet leaves in the rate of 150 Gy and five-leaflet leaves in the rate of 200 Gy. It was discovered that gamma ray irradiation on seed of Detam-1 increased the diversity in almost all of quantitative characters such as plant height, days of flowering, days of harvesting, number of filled pods, number of seed pods is more than two, seed weight per plant, number of seeds per plant, and average seed per pod. The widest variability was observed for days to harvest in the rate of 100 Gy, plant height in the rate of 150 Gy, and date to flowering and number of seed per pod in the rate of 150 Gy.
