The culture of the boat race in Kuantan Singingi Regency is a cultural tradition that has been going on from the colonial era to the present, the tradition is a boat race. Run this route every year in commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia which is usually held in August every year. The runway tradition of this route is not only included in the cultural tourism agenda of Riau Province but has been included in the agenda of National cultural tourism. Run this path has a cultural meaning contained in it, namely tenacity, cooperation, hard work, dexterity and sportsmanship. This repertoire of Kuantan singing culture does not just disappear by time and can be maintained from generation to generation. But behind it all without realizing the Pacu tradition, this Path is full of Magical practices or what is called shamanism. Shamanism and forecasting practices that are currently believed by most of the Kuansing community in various ritual activities. This magical practice has emerged at the beginning of the planning process and the process of making the pathway to the route has already competed in the arena of the Batang Kuantan River each year.
The purpose of this study was to find out the process and meaning of lowering the track in the Kuantan singing district, to find out the values contained in the ritual of lowering the lane in the district I sang.
This research uses qualitative research methods, the informant collection technique used in this study is the Snowball technique, interview data collection techniques and documentation.
