Manajemen Krisis Universitas Riau Dalam Konflik Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Dan Ilmu Politik Dan Fakultas Teknik 2017

The conflicts of FISIP and engineering’s students have caused University of Riau to experience crisis. In the mass media there is a lot of negative news that talks about conflict and the attaching action of University of Riau’s students that is FISIP and Engineering’s students, and a lot of students hurt. Then it caused University of Riau to get a negative response from the public, especially the people of Riau. Even the negative response came from the Riau’s education obeservers. Besides to causing a negative perception of Riau University, this conflict also disrupt the teaching and learning process and cause damage FISIP and Engineering’s internal relations. The goals of this research is to find out crisis management and crisis communication by University of Riau in conflicts of FISIP and Engineering’s students.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection technique through interview, documentation and literature review. Informant on this research are sixteen people taken byy purposive sampling. Researcher used grounded’s analysis model by Miles and Huberman to describe the result of this research and triangulstion technique to check the validity of the data.
The results of this research shows that Conflict FISIP and Teknik Student’s isn’t the first time. Crisis in 2017 is a continuation of the previosly unresolved crisis symptoms. University os Riau formed a fact-fanding team to find out the root cause of this conflict and then provide solutive recommendations to leaders to take steps and make policies resolving this conflict. Communication crisis by University of Riau i this crisis was transmitted through a press release, press conference and represent the right spoken person and one door information strategy.
