Pengaruh Air Gambut Terhadap Lapisan Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course (Ac-Bc)
The purpose of this research is to find out how much influence that occurs on the characteristics of AC-BC asphalt through Marshall test which is soaked by two types of liquid namely peat water and rainwater using asphalt penetration 60/70. Characteristics measured using Marshall instruments are stability, meltability, Marshall Quotient (MQ), void in mix (VIM), and void in mineral aggregate (VMA) and residual strength index (IKS).
Immersion using peat water and rain water is very influential on the value of Marshall characteristics, especially on the value of stability, flow, and VIM. The stability value decreases with increasing immersion age. Stability values that do not meet specifications in peat and rainwater at the immersion age of 3 and 4 days. The stability value that meets Bina Marga specifications is 800 kg. This shows that peat water damages more quickly and reduces the strength of asphalt pavement and the reduced ability of the AC-BC mixture to carry the burden of traffic over time will become plastic discharge.
Based on the results of tests that have been done the Value of the Residual Strength Index (IKS) has decreased every day, the value of IKS according to specifications is 90%. In peat water immersion, the value of IKS that does not meet the specifications at the immersion age of 2, 3 and 4 days.
