This final project discusses two ratio estimator for the population mean in
simple random sampling using quartile information, deciles and coefficient of
skewness of an auxiliary variable which are assumed to be able to provide
information to the characters examined. The two estimators are biased
estimators, then the mean square errors (MSE) of the two estimators are
obtained by Taylor series approximation. Furthermore, the MSE are compared
to show which estimator is the most efficient estimator. This comparison
shows that estimator ˆ Y r1 using the coefficient of skewness, decile mean and
second quartile more efficient than the estimator ˆ Y r2 using the coefficient of
skewness, decile mean and quartile deviation.
