Analisis Aliran Air Tanah Akibat Penyekatan Kanal Di Lahan Gambut
ABSTRACT
Groundwater level in peatlands is very important to be maintained so that drought does not occur. Drought in peatlands can cause forest fires, especially during the dry season. The way to maintain ground water level is by canal blocking. The purpose of this study is to analyze groundwater flow in peatlands due to canal blocking. Groundwater velocity measurements are carried out on monitoring wells built around canal blocking. Research on the direction and velocity of groundwater flow using the Groundwater Velocimeter. While also measuring groundwater levels by reading the measurement pipes in each monitoring well around the canal block. In the dry season, the movement of groundwater flow in the majority land leads to the canal. This is due to the elevation of ground water level which is increasingly towards the canal. Maximum velocity was obtained in the downstream transek SP-35 in the second week of research with a velocity value of 0,416 m/day.
