ABSTRACT

Chilli (Capsicum annum L.) is an important commodity and has high economic value in Indonesia. Aphis gossypii Glover is pest that attacks chilli plants. The environmentally friendly control is to use plant based botanical insecticides. Plant used as a botanical insecticide is chirinyuh leaf (Chromolaena odorata L.). The purpose of this study is to get a concentration of chirinyuh leaf extract which was effective in controlling Aphis gossypii Glover. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Plant Pests, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau of University, Pekanbaru, from March to May 2019. This study was experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD), it consists of five treatments and four replications. The treatments was given chirinyuh leaf extract was 60 g.l-1 water, 70 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water, 90 g.l-1 water dan 100 g.l-1 water. The results showed that the concentration of chirinyuh leaf extract with a concentration 80 g.l-1 water effectively controlled Aphis gossypii Glover with a total mortality of 95% at LC95 of 7,7%.
