ABSTRACT

This research was purposed to find out the analysis of physical and mental working loads on work stress and performance in nurses of Dumai City Hospital.
The population were 391 nurses and the sample were 80 nurses. The data used in this study is primery data and the analysis tool used in this study is path analysis with nurses performance as the dependent variable, work stress as the intervening variable, and two independent variables are physical working loads and mental working loads.
The result of the study found that : 1) Physical working loads has significant effect on the work stress 2) Mental working loads has significant effect on the work stress 3) Physical working loads has significant effect on the performance. 4) Mental working loads has significant effect on the performance. 5) Work stress has significant effect on the performance. 6) Physical working loads has significant effect on the performance through work stress. 7) Mental working loads has significant effect on the performance through work stress.
