Analisis Kecukupan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (Rth) Publik Dalam Menyerap Emisi Karbondioksida (Co2) Dari Kegiatan Transportasi Di Kota Pasir Pengaraian
ABSTRACT
One of the decreases in environmental quality is caused by pollution of carbon dioxide (CO2) from transportation activities. Pasir Pengaraian City is one of the cities that has potential as a producer of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transportation activities in Riau Province. One effort to reduce the concentration of CO2 in urban air is by applying the concept of green area or better known as green open space (GOS). This study aims to determine the adequacy of public green open space in absorbing CO2 emissions resulting from transportation activities in the city of Pasir Pengaraian. The method used, which is recording traffic activities to calculate the amount of CO2 emissions and calculate all public green open space with a type of vegetation cover in the form of grasslands and trees that have a diameter of ≥ 20 cm, and calculate the percentage of green space absorption. The results showed that the value of CO2 emissions from transportation activities in the city of Pasir Pengaraian amounted to 81.802,49 tons of CO2 / year, while the ability of CO2 absorption by public green space in the city of Pasir Pengaraian was only 14.499,13 tons of CO2 / year. The analysis shows that public green open space in the city of Pasir Pengaraian in terms of absorption of CO2 emissions from transportation activities is still not enough with a percentage of only 17.72 %. The need for the area of public green open space in the city of Pasir Pengaraian based on CO2 emission absorption is expected to be fulfilled by the addition and optimization of public green open space which can be done by selecting appropriate CO2 gas reducing vegetation.
