Analisis Kecukupan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (Rth) Publik Dalam Menyerap Emisi Karbon Dioksida (Co2) Dari Kegiatan Transportasi Di Wilayah Pengembangan (Wp) I Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Development Region I is an area that has the potential to be producer of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transportation activities in Pekanbaru City. Growth in urban areas will bring negative impacts if not planned and directed as early as possible. Therefore, provision of green open space (GOS) is indispensable in overcoming problems increase greenhouse gases emissions (GGE), especially CO2 emissions. This research was conducted to find out the number of motorized vehicles and the value of CO2 emissions produced every day and the value of absorption ability in Development Area I from CO2 emissions transportation activities. The method used is recording traffic activities to calculate the value of CO2 emissions and calculating all public GOS with the types of vegetation cover, in the form of grasslands and trees which has diameter of ≥ 20 cm, as well as calculating the percentage of GOS absorption capacity. The results of the research, obtained the number of motorized vehicles and the largest value of CO2 emissions on Monday, which has 18,635 pcu/day with CO2 emissions values of 185,826.47 ton CO2/year, while the percentage of CO2 absorption capacity by GOS is obtained at 6.47 %. This inficates that the existing GOS in Development Region I hasn’t fulfilled the absorption of CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Development Region I.
