Rocky Gerung's statement on "Scripture is fictional" is regarded as a reported blasphemy of religion to Polda Metro Jaya on 11 April 2018 by social media activist Abu Janda aka Permadi Arya. When it comes to scripture, it means the guidelines of human life in the world for religious believers. Furthermore, in Indonesia not only have one religion but many other beliefs. Likewise, the University of Riau has a diversity of religions, namely the Islamic religion, Catholic Christianity, Protestant Christianity, Buddhism, and also Hinduism. With this diversity of religious writers want to aim to know the opinion of the University of Riau students about the statement "holy book is fiction" in the Indonesian television program Lawyers Club on tvOne based on the perspective of Islam, Protestant Christianity, Buddhism, and Hindu religion.
This research uses the theory of limited effects with qualitative methods. The research subject uses the purposif technique. The informant in the study was 10 people, including two informant from each religion, namely Islamic religion, Catholicism, Protestant Christianity, Buddhism, and Hindu religion with the criteria and understanding of the Scriptures that Trusted. Data collection techniques are interviews, observations, and documentation. Technical analysis of data conducted using interactive data analysis models Miles and Huberman. To achieve the validity of the data in the author's research using triangulation and adequacy reference.
The results of this study showed that the students opinion of the Riau University's statement of "Scripture is fictional" in the Indonesian television program Lawyers Club at tvOne from various religious perspectives: Islam, Catholic Christianity, Christianity Protestants, Buddhism, and Hinduism have a stance on rejecting the "holy book is fiction" statement. However, this statement is not regarded as a religious blasphemy, it is not considered damaging harmony between religions and not potentially divisive the unity of Indonesia. The "Scripture is fictional" statement is needed by students to add reference, knowledge, and concepts, as well as sharpen the analysis of a problem in the community. Students of Riau University see Rocky Gerung as the one who mentions the statement "Scripture is fictional" is for people who want to improve the word fiction, but on the other hand he has political interests. As a medium where Rocky Gerung had a statement "holy book is Fiction", University of Riau students viewed the topic of Indonesian Lawyers Club has no relationship with the "holy book is fiction" statement. But this attitude is returned to the community because everyone has their own demeanor.
