Strategi Pengembangan Industri Kelapa Di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir

Indragiri Hilir District has 515,200 hectares of coconut plant with 418,200 tons of production (Indonesian BPS, 2015), but the production is always decreasing. The decrease of coconut production is caused by the decrease of coconut plantation area, land damage and the others. The research is done to analyzing internal and external factors that can affect to the development of the deep coconut industry. The purpose of it to find the right and accurate strategy for the formulation of coconut industry development. The result of analysis internal factor as 2.04 and external factor 2.24 enter into cell to V at matrix of IE and shows that the strength factor influencing to the development of coconut industry are the large area of coconut plant in large enough, the availability of large enough workforce, has a large coconut processing industry while weakness factor can affect are the age of the coconut plant in many old ones, coconut farmers generally use local seeds, decreased of coconut productivity and the others. For the results of external factors such as the opportunities are the high demand for coconut products and derivatives in the export market, coconut derived products can still be developed and the support from the local government and related institutions while the factors that pose a threat are damage to coconut plantation land due to seawater intrusion and high attention of investment in competitor country to coconut industry. Final analysis of matrix QSPM is produced by 15 priority strategies for coconut industry development.
