Analisis Integrasi Spasial Pasar Beras Provinsi Riau Dengan Daerah Pemasok

The price of rice as the main staple food of the people of Riau fluctuate with increasing tendency.The causative factor is the need that tends to increase, while local production tends to decline, so it is necessary to supply rice from other provinces even from other countries. Observing the condition, this research is conducted with the aim of: (1) Knowing the dynamics and variations of rice prices in Riau Province and supplier areas; (2) Predicting the price of rice in Riau Province; (3) Analyze the level of spatial integration between the rice market in Riau Province and the supplier area. Three analytical techniques are used to answer the purpose of the study, namely: (1) Descriptive analysis and coefficient of variation; (2) ARIMA Model and (3) Vector Auto-Regression model (VAR)/Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results of the analysis of dynamics and price variations shows that the price of rice in Riau Province and in the supplier area fluctuates and tends to increase. The price of Riau Province’s rice based on forecasting results, will increase in the year folowing year. The analysis of spatial integration of rice market shows that rice market of Riau Province is only integrated with East Java rice market in long term and with Thai rice market in long term and short term. Based on these data and facts, Then what should be done by the government is to secure the supply of rice in a way: (1)Conducting long-term cooperation with East Java Province in terms of rice supply; (2) The government is investing in rice development in East Java; (3) Conducting long-term rice import cooperation with Thailand; and (4) Conducting training / internship cooperation in East Java and Thailand; and (5)Increase the supply of rice in the region itself or even be self-sufficient rice.
