Child Friendly City are developed in Indonesia through the Regulation of the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 Year 2011 on the Development Policy of District / City of Children Eligible. In 2015, Pekanbaru has been awarded as a child friendly city in the first place.Government of Pekanbaru continue to make various effort based on 24 indicators of childfriendly city that have been determined. The aim is to maintain the award in 2017 with a higher level than before.
The method used qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data obtained from interviews and observation. Secondary data obtained from data collection with documents. Data analysis uses data collection methods, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions.
The result of this research shows that responsiveness and accountability of the Government of Pekanbaru to improve the child friendly city status in 2017 is quite optimal. This can be seen from the increase in the fulfillment of children's rights based on 24 indicators of Child Friendly City that have been determined by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection.
